Sacchan Talks About One Piece Film Gold

It's too messy and biased to be called a review, but it's something like a review. Spoiler-free.
Last weekend I went to watch One Piece Film Gold in the movies! I rarely watch non-English movies in the cinema, the last one I watched was probably Doraemon's Stand By Me and I wasn't an avid Doraemon follower so it wasn't that memorable, but GOD DAMN there's something about watching One Piece in a big screen that's just so satisfying.
In comparison to other movies though, I daresay I like it better than Deadpool.
Okay okay okay I'm kinda bringing it down when I don't mean to but I FUCKING LOVED THE MOVIE OKAY. I know it's a completely biased opinion since I love One Piece to begin with, but most people here that went to the movies to see it are mostly One Piece fanatics, I'm pretty sure of it. Which made the whole experience just that more enjoyable. The theater was mostly empty, but everytime epic scenes or references were made I could feel the whole atmosphere tingle under the sheer epicness of it all and it was just... Amazing.
You might think I'm exaggerating but as someone that doesn't feel like her interests match any of her friends'/environment most of the time, this was a big deal.
Atmosphere aside, all the One Piece charm points were there as usual.
The epic fight scenes, preciously cheesy punchlines, quirky characters, gut-wrenching background stories, and just like the previous One Piece movies, damn good animation.
Oh and... Did I tell you I'm still in the Dressrosa Arc? So Luffy's fourth gear was a bit of a surprise. I knew it was coming, I just never knew what it was like. It was epic, as expected, of course.
...I just love One Piece so much man it's so good. But I can't bring myself to continue the anime because of complete fear of catching up and not having anything else to watch and having to wait. And if you're like, "Just read the manga, it's quicker!", NO! I started One Piece with the anime and I'd like it to stay that way, mainly cause the seiyuus are all to die for and stuff just look better animated, okay?
This is super OOT but did I ever tell you about that time I had a mental breakdown when I was on holiday not in Japan, and was like, "Why am I not in the One Piece museum right now?". It was so first-world-problem, but I legit felt depressed the entire day. I might've been nearing my period hahaha.

First off, I haven't watched all the One Piece movies, I've only watched two and loved both of them. Namely Strong World and Film Z. And I gotta say, Film Gold had to fall underneath those two, unfortunately. To be fair, I really loved Strong World cause their costumes were bomb and Film Z just had me tingling all over. Of course Film Gold wasn't bad AT ALL, just not my favorite.

but i watch all the other movies.
lol tbh Deadpool is kinda so-so for me so i don't really understand the hype for it.
Dressrosa arc is so long ! but Arabasta is the longest one for me. i watch OP weekly but sometimes wait around 5 episodes and watch it all together (if the fight is too long and boring) XD
i don't think OP Gold will be coming to my country though. Shall wait for DL XD

Date: 2016-09-21 10:37 pm (UTC)Ahhh I guess I was just a Marvel fangirl so I quite liked Deadpool ><
Yesss but IMO Dressrosa is also kinda more exciting than Alabasta was haha. Though I still haven't continued to this day. I might continue when they've finished another arc or something hahaha.

Date: 2016-09-21 10:34 pm (UTC)I fill the void that is me-unable-to-go-to-Japan with buying the figurines ahaha it's an unhealthy habit.
Since I won't be making it to the limited theme park, are both the Tokyo Tower Park and the one in J-World permanent?
Dude I don't mind hahaa, I actually have talked about One Piece a lot here but no one seemed to pay any mind to it pffft.

Date: 2016-09-22 03:50 am (UTC)Yessss me too. I bought a lot of figurines nowadays and it's somehow sucks my pocket dry lol.
Yes! It's permanent :)
You can check the websites too. Just type "One Piece Tokyo Tower" and "J-World Tokyo" on google.
It's awesome. Really. They have the live action theatre at Tokyo Tower theme park so make sure you go to that one first (bcs the line is sometimes crazy)! :D
Prepare your money when you go there because the goods are just too tempting XD (they have limited goods there which are different with the one they sell in Mugiwara Stores).
And make sure you visit all 3 One Piece restaurants if you go to Japan! (Sanji's Baratie, Sanji's Mademoiselle, and Mugiwara Cafe)
So glad to find another OP fans!
Love to talk more with you sacchan-san♡
