The Last Cop renzoku drama in October, announced!

I've always wanted to write something useful like this but never have. This is my first go at translating a news article, it's very liberal and loose, you have been warned.

The source of this article translation type thing that's not really a translation is from Oricon. The grammar is horrible, please spare me on that aspect. And I didn't translate one paragraph that announced the other casts, sorry.

Actor Karasawa Toshiaki will be starring in NTV's drama series, "The Last Cop/Last Cop" that starts airing in October every Saturday at 9.00. It was originally aired as a tanpatsu on June last year and 6 episodes were aired on Hulu. It's an action-comedy remake of a popular German drama, about a passionate "Showa" police officer, Kyougoku Kousuke, played by Karasawa that's just woken up from a 30-year coma, and a herbivorous "Heisei" police officer, Mochidzuki Ryouta played by Kubota Masataka as his partner as they take on various cases.

Karasawa, who's currently starring in the airing asadora "Toto neechan to" says, "As we haven't cranked-in yet, I'm not in the Kyougoku-mode quite yet, but when I make the switch, I'm sure no one will be able to stop me!"

In regards to co-acting with Kubota after a while, Karasawa said, "His bangs were as long as it used to be, I'm glad. If he makes one mistake, I'll have him cut one centimeter off of his bangs, I think I'd put that penalty into play." with a smile. "Because it isn't like the usual dramas, I'm a little worried it won't be received well by people. I hope Kubota-kun's freshness can cover that!"

With the revival of his duo with Karasawa, Kubota said, "The uneven combination and high-tension duo, this time they'll be back and more powered up than ever, so as to be better than last time, I'd like to challenge various things with Kyougoku-san and make it the best form of entertainment!"

As a tanpatsu, it's viewing rate was 12.9%. As for its rate in Hulu, since they've started their service in August 2011, it's the drama that's gained the no. 1 attention. Before it starts airing in October, there will be a "Three-week Renzoku Last Cop Festival" starting on the 3rd of September, airing "episode 0 (Zero)".

I can't believe I just read this now!! >__< I've seen the articles floating around everywhere, but it's in Japanese so... XD I just got the gist of the news that they're going to do this series again as regular drama. So this translation from you is really great!! I got more information from this.
