What's IWGP?

Nuuu~ It's....
Ikebukuro West Gate Park (池袋ウェストゲートパーク)
It's a place, obviously, but It's also this Japanese drama mainly about youths, gangs, delinquents, drugs, prostitutions, murders and the likes that revolve around Ikebukuro.
It stars TOKIO's Nagase Tomoya, but NEWS's Yamapi and Rookies's Sato Ryuta also appears in it (yay).
First glance, I really like the way it's filmed and shown to the audience. I mean, the way they go through the episode with the strange scene breaks, kind of reminds me of DRRR!!, not because it's also set in Ikebukuro, but because of it's strangely timed yet completely reasonable jumpcuts.
Uh... I've only seen the first episode so I don't really know what the story is about other than this serial strangler that murders call girls...
But what I do know,
It has strawberry-eating police officers,
Pothead-yet-crazy-strong gang leaders(?)
Perverted police officers,
And landmark-statue-stealing teenagers.

.
So that's basically all-grounds covered, right?

Date: 2017-09-15 04:06 am (UTC)IWGP is one of my fave J-drama. I was so hooked by Kubozuka Yosuke back then. He was so kakkoi I just didn't even bother with Nagase, Yamapi, or Tsumabuki Satoshi. Sorry to their fans out there anyway. :-P

Well, he's a great actor indeed. I'd like to think his golden years of acting was around the early 2000s. Then somehow he's got himself into reggae/hip hop music, which is really not my taste. And later we've seen him less and less on screen.
Sigh......
