Not subs, I'm sorry! I'm kind of in a slump lately... In this black hole of procrastination. So I haven't finished subbing a thing. Instead I spent my time reading mangas that I haven't read yet. So here's what I think about Fujii Aya's Warui Hito (悪いひと)!

I bought the manga off of cdjapan last year? Or was it this year I can't remember. I didn't read any synopsis of it online, I bought it solely because I loved the cover art and it seemed interesting enough. Back when I bought it there weren't any raws/scanlated versions up online, but I looked it up just now and there are translated Japanese raws on raffmanga here! So check that out if you'd like to read it :)
P.S. Pictures are taken using my phone and not scanned, so it might vary in quality, heheh.

// A Little Explanation //

I tried writing a proper synopsis, really, but it just wasn't my style so here goes nothing.
It's about this model-student slash "good girl" Iku who's having family problems ever since her single father brought home a new partner. One night whilst walking through town her eye caught this dangerous-looking dude and made eye contact. Long story short she approached him and fell in love. But this dude has huge personality problems and emotional baggage. The whole manga is basically her contemplating whether or not she's okay with him and his emotional baggage and her getting him to like her back.
LOL THIS I CAN ALREADY SEE HOW MESSY THIS REVIEW IS GOING TO BE.

// Plot //

I don't usually expect much out of shoujo mangas... I've read so much that all the plots just mix together and taste(?) the same. This manga is basically just your everyday guy-with-a-sad-past-gets-saved-by-bright-strong-willed-girl story line. Just in different wrappings.

// Art //

It was what made me bought the manga in the first place (Way to judge a book by its cover, Sacchan), so perfect points. It didn't disappoint, IMO. My favorite types of mangas are cute, light, sketchy drawings, which is exactly what this is, with a tinge of depression and sadness in some of the characters' expression. You know how some mangas' arts just look good in the cover? This wasn't the case. Flowy hairs, slightly blushed cheeks, eyes that are the right size and drawn with emotion. Perfect.

// Characters //

Like the plot, it had pretty mainstream characters, bright-good-girl and dark-sad-guy. If there was anything that bothered me, it was that the guy was too much of an asshole, not that I should've expected much on the male protagonist of a manga titled "Bad Guy", my bad.

He doesn't mellow down at all until the last three pages of the manga, which I personally found a bit selfish and overflowing with douchiness, meh. He pushed her away and rejected her and bullied her all the way through the book. (though he did have some emotional trauma being the reason pf)

"Can I like you?"

Iku, the female protagonist was very strong willed. I didn't really understand the way she thinks... She was really... nice.

If there's anything I got off of her it's the stereotype that girls are attracted to douchebags with emotional baggage. How it wakes(?) their mother-instincts and how they to fix them, though in this mangas case, it was "to make him happy". Anyways. Strong-willed.
This line was awesome though, I was like... Damn girl, you're strong. (?) I wouldn't be able to deal with a guy like him.

"Whatever you say to me, I won't stop liking you. I'm free to have these feelings."

Character design-wise (as in how they looked), the author was on point. Like I said, she properly conveyed their feelings through her art in their expression. The slightest blush in their cheeks, their deep watery eyes... Their hair is my favorite point. Oh how they flowed free and fluidly. It's great. (I'm never going to stop when I'm talking about art, whether it's games or mangas or animes)

// Pros and Cons //
+ Art
- Plot is so-so
- Douche
- I want more fluff! And more to their relationship ;-; (it's the fangirl in me yearning for more)

All in all it's pretty good eye-candy to read for killing time. Though it's pretty lengthy. Read it if you like these sorts of arts~

It was a messy review but I hope you enjoyed it. And if you've read the manga, tell me what you think of it! :)

FYI other stuffs I'm doing are progressing real slowly...
